Known and Called

Today’s Readings

In today’s first reading, the prophet Isaiah reminds us of a profound truth: God knows us personally. “The Lord called me from birth, from my mother’s womb he gave me my name.” A name is more than a label. It speaks to our identity, to who we are as a unique human person and beloved child of God.

The Lord knows us better than anyone else—even better than we know ourselves. He knows our strengths and weaknesses, our hopes and fears, our joys and struggles. More importantly, He has called each of us by name and invites us into a relationship with Him.

Pause for a moment and consider that reality. The Creator of heaven and earth knows you and loves you.

This is why we worship. Through Mass and daily prayer, we grow in awareness of God’s presence and love. Rooted in Him, we discover the strength, wisdom, and grace we need for each day, trusting that He walks with us always.
