God’s Unfailing Love

Today’s Readings

The prophet Hosea paints a beautiful and moving image of God’s love today. He compares the Lord to a loving parent who taught a child to walk, lifted that child into loving arms, and cared for every need. Even after the child turns away, the parent’s heart still longs for reconciliation rather than punishment.

This reveals two profound truths about our faith. First, God’s love for each of us is beyond anything we can fully comprehend. Even the deepest love between parent and child is only a glimpse of the love God has for us. Second, because His love is perfect, His mercy is inexhaustible. No matter how far we have wandered or how great our sins, the Lord never stops inviting us home.

When we are tempted to believe we are beyond forgiveness, today’s readings remind us to trust not in our failures but in the infinite mercy of God’s loving heart.
