Accepting God’s Invitation

Today’s Readings

In today’s readings, Isaiah describes a great banquet prepared by God, a celebration of His victory over sin and death. It is a reminder of God’s promise of eternal life, when He will wipe away every tear.

But God’s invitation isn’t simply about something wonderful awaiting us in heaven. He invites us into a relationship with Him today.

In the Gospel, some invited guests are too busy with their daily responsibilities to accept the king’s invitation. How often do we do the same? We believe in God and want to grow in faith, but keep putting it off until life becomes less busy.

Yet our relationship with Christ is meant to transform how we live today: our priorities, our relationships, and how we treat others.

God’s invitation is before us. Are we willing to accept it and allow His love to transform our lives?
