In today’s Collect for the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we prayed for the grace to live in “deeper peace.” Peace is one of the great longings of the human heart. To live in peace means that fear, stress, or anxiety do not control us or weigh us down.
The first step toward such peace is the simple but profound truth: God is with us. The Lord is not a distant figure, removed from our lives. He is not a mere philosophical idea or theological abstraction. He simply is—and He is near.
True peace flows from living in harmony with God and His will for us. We come to recognize that the world cannot give what only God can provide. Our deepest longings are fulfilled in Him alone.
On this feast, let us ask for the intercession of the Blessed Mother. May her trust and openness to God inspire us to welcome His presence more deeply into our lives. In doing so, may we discover the lasting peace that comes only from the Lord who dwells within.
