Ash Wednesday

Today’s Readings

In today’s second reading for Ash Wednesday, St. Paul reminds us: “We are ambassadors for Christ.” This simple yet profound statement invites us to examine our lives. What do my actions, my words, and the way I live reveal? What am I truly an ambassador for?

An ambassador represents another. If we are ambassadors for Christ, then our lives are meant to make Him visible. Others should be able to glimpse His love, His mercy, and His truth through us. This is both a gift and a responsibility.

Lent gives us a sacred opportunity to reflect honestly. Are there parts of my life that do not reflect my love and belief in Jesus Christ? This is not about harsh self-judgment, but about conversion. It is about allowing Christ to shape our hearts more fully.

Through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, may we grow into faithful ambassadors—men and women whose lives quietly and powerfully proclaim Christ to the world.
