In today’s Gospel, Jesus feeds a great multitude with only five loaves and two fish. It is more than a miracle of multiplication — it is a revelation of God’s heart. The crowd comes with real hunger, not only for food, but for meaning, hope, and life. We recognize that same hunger around us today. Many search for fulfillment in ways that ultimately leave them weary and burdened. Only God can satisfy the deepest hunger of the human heart.
Yet Jesus does not work alone. He invites the disciples to bring what little they have — and places it in His hands. The same is true for us. We cannot solve every problem or meet every need. But when we offer our time, our gifts, our compassion, and our resources to the Lord, He does what we cannot. In His hands, even our small offerings become food for a world in need.
