“Sing to the Lord a new song” (Ps 96:1). What a fitting invitation as we stand on the threshold of a new year.
New Year’s resolutions remind us that something within the human heart longs to begin again — to live more fully, more faithfully, more joyfully. And the timing is perfect! The New Year arrives in the heart of the Christmas season, when we celebrate that Christ has entered our world to make all things new.
This is more than changing habits or rearranging schedules. It is an opportunity to look honestly at our relationship with Jesus. Where is the Lord inviting me to grow? What needs renewal in my heart, my home, and my life of faith?
The Christian life is always a journey of conversion — a continual turning toward God. As we welcome a new year, may we recommit ourselves to our true identity: disciples of Jesus Christ.
