Advent is not just a countdown to Christmas—it is a journey into our deepest longing: the desire for peace. Not merely the absence of conflict, but the presence of hope, joy, and wholeness. Just like the people in Isaiah’s time, we too are tired, anxious, and overwhelmed by the tensions of our world and the quiet battles in our hearts.
Into that darkness, Isaiah speaks: “Come, let us walk in the light of the Lord.” Those words stir something deep within us because we were made for the light. We long to be free from fear, worry, and restlessness.
True peace does not come from the world—it comes from Christ. He doesn’t just bring peace. He IS our peace.
This Advent, let us prepare not by doing more, but by making room for Him:
- Lay down gossip, resentment, and self-doubt.
- Make space for prayer and silence.
- Come together at Mass, where we meet the Prince of Peace.
Advent begins our path from darkness into light.
