Living with Eternity in Mind

Today’s Readings

Today’s readings invite us to lift our eyes from the temporary and focus on what truly matters. We spend so much of life chasing expectations, meeting worldly demands, or following our own wants—often at the expense of our deeper needs. In the chaos, we lose sight of who we are, our purpose, and our ultimate destiny: eternal life with God.

We allow activities, money, entertainment, or possessions to dominate our attention—yet all of these are passing. St. Caesarius of Arles reminds us, “Many fears and afflictions confront us in this world; but if we follow Christ, we shall reach a place of perfect happiness, perfect peace, and everlasting freedom from fear.”

The Christian life is a journey of conversion—daily turning our hearts to Christ, allowing Him to love us, and recognizing His presence. Conversion means reordering our priorities, building our lives on His foundation, and living His will each day.
