Recognizing the King Who Changes Everything

Today’s Readings

As we close the liturgical year, we face the central question of our faith: Who is Jesus? One thief on Calvary saw just a dying man. The other saw a King— not of politics or power, but of mercy, truth, and eternal life. That question remains the heart of our faith and our lives.

Jesus is not simply a wise teacher or inspiring figure. As the Nicene Creed boldly proclaims, He is “Begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father.” He is God. And if Jesus is God, then He is not just part of our life—He is the meaning of our life.

This truth calls us to live differently: to let His truth shape our decisions, to encounter Him in the Sacraments, and to proclaim Him courageously in a world searching for hope. Like the Good Thief, may we say, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your Kingdom”—and let that be the beginning of a transformed life.
