In today’s Gospel, one of the ten lepers healed by Jesus returns to give thanks. His gratitude goes far beyond polite words—it becomes an act of worship. St. Luke tells us that he “fell at the feet of Jesus” and “glorified God in a loud voice.”This was no quiet thank-you; it was a total outpouring of the heart. His gratitude led him to surrender himself completely to the Lord.
This healed man is a model for us. True gratitude begins when we recognize how deeply we have been healed and forgiven. When we remember what the Lord has done for us—especially in our moments of weakness and unworthiness—our hearts are moved to praise and to generosity. Gratitude draws us closer to Christ and transforms thanksgiving into self-offering.
Today, take a moment to reflect: how has the Lord healed or blessed you recently? Let that awareness move you to glorify God—not only with your words, but with your life.
