The Call to Repentance and Renewal

Today’s Readings

At the heart of Jesus’ preaching is the call to repentance — an invitation to turn away from sin and to return to God. To repent is not merely to feel sorrow, but to reorient our lives toward a deeper relationship with the Lord, striving to live according to His ways. It means refocusing our hearts and minds, freeing ourselves from the distractions of the world and from the constant search for its approval or praise.

Such a life is not easy. In fact, on our own it is impossible. Yet the Lord who calls us also gives us everything we need to respond. He grants us the gift of faith and invites us to nurture it daily — through prayerful reading of Scripture, learning from the saints, and encountering Him in the Sacraments. When we take time each day to meet the Lord who dwells within our hearts, our faith grows strong and begins to bear fruit in our thoughts, words, and actions.
