Wednesday of the 25th Week in Ordinary Time

Today’s Readings

In today’s first reading we hear: “Thus he has given us new life to raise again the house of our God and restore its ruins” (Ezra 9:9). These words remind us of St. Francis of Assisi, when Christ said to him: “Francis, rebuild my church.” That call was not only about repairing buildings, but about renewing the very life of the Church.

The same call comes to us today. Renewal begins not “out there,” but within each of us—through our own ongoing conversion of heart and mind. We are invited to live as beloved children of God not only at Mass or in prayer, but in every moment of our lives.

God gives us the Scriptures, the Church, and especially the Sacraments—the Eucharist and Reconciliation—as the means of strength and grace for this renewal. May we embrace these gifts so that, through our daily faithfulness, the Lord may rebuild His Church in our time.

Reflection: Where is God calling you to deeper conversion today?
