In today’s readings, St. Paul once again reminds us what the Christian life looks like in practice. He tells us to be examples in “speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity.” These marks of discipleship are not about standing apart for the sake of being different. Rather, they flow from the heart of the Gospel: a life rooted in love.
How different this is from what we so often see in the world around us—anger, anxiety, division, condemnation, even hatred. As disciples of Jesus, we are called to live another way. This does not mean that we ignore the challenges of our time, but it does mean we resist becoming yet another angry voice or finger pointing in judgment. What the world truly needs are witnesses of Christ—people who radiate faith, hope, and love right in the midst of chaos.
Jesus teaches us that this witness is possible when we remain in His love. The more we grow in love for Him, the more His grace transforms us and enables us to live fully as beloved children of God.
Today, let us ask the Lord for the grace to love Him more deeply, so that our words, our actions, and our very presence may bear witness to Christ in a world hungry for peace and truth.
