God desires that all people be saved and share eternal life with Him. Isaiah and Jesus remind us that heaven is not for a select few, but open to all who follow Christ.
The challenge is moving from simply knowing about Jesus to truly knowing Him. Reading Scripture, studying, or attending events are good beginnings, but discipleship is more than information—it is relationship. As the author of Abandonment to Divine Providence reminds us, thirst is quenched not by reading about water but by drinking it. In the same way, faith means spending time with Christ, listening and speaking with Him in prayer, and allowing His grace to change us.
Jesus tells us, “Strive to enter through the narrow gate.” This requires commitment and sacrifice, not just proximity. The Church gives us tools—prayer, the Eucharist, confession, Scripture, and companionship in faith. Let us not settle for mediocrity, but allow His love to transform us. With God’s grace, we can become saints.
Parish Announcements/Schedule Changes
Parish Block Party Update
We have been looking forward to gathering for our Parish Block Party, originally scheduled for Saturday, September 7. However, due to a number of scheduling conflicts and other issues, we will need to move this celebration to a later date. We are currently working on a new date and will share those details with you as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Cathedral Monday Evening Mass
Recently we were pleased to announce the addition of a 5:30 PM Monday Mass at the Cathedral. Unfortunately, due to a scheduling conflict, we will need to discontinue this Mass effective September 1. We are currently exploring other times and options that may better serve the community and will keep you updated. Thank you for your understanding as we work to provide prayer opportunities that best meet the needs of our parish family.
