Wednesday, Memorial of St. Bernard of Clairvaux

Today’s Readings

Like any relationship, our journey with the Lord is personal and unique, shaped by our strengths, weaknesses, and life experiences. At times, we may feel stuck or struggle to move forward; at other times, we may experience remarkable growth. Yet the goal remains the same for all of us: eternal life with Christ.

As we walk this path, we also share a responsibility to accompany others on their journeys. Today’s Gospel reminds us that the Lord works through us to reach those around us. This requires humility: we cannot see ourselves as “better” or holier than others. We are fellow travelers, equally in need of God’s mercy, forgiveness, and transforming love.

On this Memorial of St. Bernard of Clairvaux, we turn to his intercession. May his example inspire us to open our minds and hearts more fully to Christ’s love—allowing that love not only to renew us, but also to guide us in walking faithfully and humbly with others toward the Lord.
