Today is the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul. At Mass this morning Pope Leo XIV preached, “In our life as disciples, we can always risk falling into a rut, a routine, a tendency to follow the same old pastoral plans without experiencing interior renewal and a willingness to respond to new challenges. The two Apostles, however, can inspire us by the example of their openness to change, to new events, encounters and concrete situations in the life of their communities, and by their readiness to consider new approaches to evangelization in response to the problems raised by our brothers and sisters in the faith.”
The mission of the Our Lady of Fall River Catholic Community is to ‘form disciples of Jesus Christ through Word, Sacrament and Service.” Living out this mission is how we help one another with this interior renewal and growth demanded of every Christian believer. It is also how we strengthen and embolden one another to share the faith with others. We are not just a family of faith that gathers at the Table each Sunday. We are one that goes out and proclaims the Gospel to all those we encounter throughout the week.
This week we welcome Fr. Mike Cyriac as our new Parochial Vicar. Also, Fr. Dan Nunes will be in residence at the Cathedral as he begins his new assignment as Chaplain at Charlton Hospital. Welcome Fr. Mike and Fr. Dan!
