Proclaim God’s marvelous deeds to all the nations. (Ps. 96:3)
The words of Psalm 96 remind us that the Gospel message and the invitation from the Lord is for all of humanity. God’s intention and desire is for all those made in His image and likeness (which is the whole human race) to live His ways so that they may experience the joy that comes from living in love with Him.
There are two challenges: First, for the whole world to live this message and accept this invitation, the whole world needs to know Christ. This is more than knowing about Christ but knowing him in a loving relationship and making Him the foundation of their lives. The only way that happens is if we share our love for Christ with others. It certainly isn’t always easy, and it takes a lot of time.
The second challenge: we cannot share what we do not have. We need to be living in love with Christ ourselves. A love that continues to deepen day by day and that continues to transform us in mind and heart.
Our time at Mass and in prayer is meant to help us give praise and worship to God and to draw us closer to Him, but it is also meant to help us leave there as missionary disciples, sharing His Gospel and love with all those we encounter.
